Basketball: USA lead after first quarter
That first quarter was one for the defensive purists.
Or perhaps both teams were simply awful on offense (France are shooting 19 per cent from the field, with the USA at 33 per cent).
Either way, we have averylow scoring first quarter, with the USA leading 15-9.

Basketball: Final event of Paris 2024 as hosts France take on defending champions USA in women's gold medal game
Here we are then: the final event of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
The USA have been the dominant force in women's basketball for decades, last losing a game in 1992. France are looking to cause the mother of all upsets, and they've certainly got the backing of the home crowd.
It feels like a rock concert inside Bercy Arena, such is the noise!
We're about ready for tip-off. Here we go!

Water polo: Serbia win men's gold!
Serbia join the legends of Olympic men's water polo!
Prior to today, just two teams had won three consecutive Olympic gold medals in water polo (Great Britain (1908-1920) and Hungary (2000-2008)).
But Serbia have now joined that exclusive group thanks to their 13-11 win over Croatia. Radoslav Filipovic was a wall in goal for Serbia, saving almost half of all the shots he faced.
Croatia win a fourth Olympic medal following on from their gold at London 2012 and silvers at Atlanta 1996 and Rio 2016.

Weightlifting: Li Wenwen (CHN) wins women's +81kg gold!
Li is your Olympic champion!
The Tokyo 2020 gold medallist in the +87kg category was untouchable again in Paris, first lifting 136kg in the snatch to put her in a commanding position before following up with a lift of 173kg clean and jerk in her second attempt to secure gold.
Her total of 309kg is a full 10 kilos ahead of Park Hyejeong (KOR) in second, while Emily Campbell (GBR), who won silver in Tokyo, takes bronze.
There's a great moment as Li comes out to attempt her final lift, but instead of approaching the bar she curls around the platform and brings her coach on stage, lifting him up to celebrate with the crowd. Now that's how you do it!

🥈Park Hyejeong (KOR): 299kg

Track cycling: Harrie Lavreysen wins men's keirin gold
Great Britain have won the last four men's keirin gold medals. CanJack Carlin continue the streak?
He's one of the six finalists, alongside another hot favourite, Netherlands'Harrie Lavreysen, Australia'sMatthew Richardson and Matt Glaetzer, Malaysia's Muhammad Shahrom, and Japan'sNakano Shinji.
Six laps of this track, three behind a motorised derny that will get them up to speed.
The derny pulls off without a move behind yet. It's a very early attack as the derny moves aside from Glaetzer.
Carlin can't latch on to Lavreysen.
Here goes Lavreysen! Richardson is with him! Big crash behind takes out three riders and Glaetzer, who was back in sixth, comes through!
Butgold to Harrie Lavreysen who completes his domination of the velodrome!
Australia two-three for Richardson and Glaetzer.

Basketball: Australia win women's bronze!
It came right down to the final 30 seconds, but a key block from Steph Talbot was followed up by a strong defensive effort from Australia to force a Belgian shot clock violation.
Belgium were then forced to foul to stop the clock, but Australia knocked down all of their free throws to win 85-81 and claim the bronze!
The Opals celebrate wildly on the court, and now make their way to the stands to embrace family, friends, and the fans who presumably made the long trip from down under to be here.

Track cycling: Valente wins omnium elimination race to extend lead
The favourites have all stayed out of trouble in this women's omnium elimination race so far.
There was an earlier error from the race commisaires eliminating Poland's Daria Pikulik, but it was corrected and the race yellow flagged to let her chase back to the pack. She is finally eliminated in 10th place.
Fourth overall after the tempo race, Denmark'sAmalie Dideriksen is eliminated in eighth – that will drop her down the rankings quite a bit.
We're now down to four riders. Can Belgium's Lotte Kopecky do herself a big favour in the overall standings with a strong finish?
She's joined by the overall top three: Valente, Baker, and Maggie Coles-Lyster of Canada. And it is Kopecky who gets called.
It means our top three overall are also the last three in this race, and they will stay in the medal positions.
Coles-Lyster goes in third, meaning we're down to one final sprint for the line… and Jennifer Valente wins the race!
The Olympic champion extends her overall lead to 10 full points.

Clouvel has struggled on the laser range – needing 14 shots to get her five green lights on her first visit – and the Frenchwoman's dropped back to second, just barely keeping ahead of Republic of Korea's Seong Seungmin.
Hungary'sMichelle Gulyas is clear at the front after some strong laser shooting.
Up they come to the range for the final time. Gulyas is in the lead, and she is in and out in no time at all!
Finally Clouvel gets a good visit to the range and she is going to be on her heels for the last 600m lap.
Gulyas, arms outstretched, celebrates as she comes home for gold! Clouvel celebrates too as she wins silver on home soil, her second silver adding to Rio 2016! And Seong comes home for bronze!
The crowd go wild for Clouvel.
That is a new overall score world record for Gulyas! 1461 points, breaking Alice Sotero's 1443.
